Part Exchange Co, originators and producers of the highly acclaimed Hidden City Festival which took place right across Plymouth in unusual spaces and places during autumn 2008, have published The Hidden City Festival Handbook to document this landmark Plymouth event.

Co-written by Part Exchange Co-Directors Rachel Aspinwall and Ruth Mitchell with academic Phil Smith and published by the University of Plymouth Press (UPP), The Hidden City Handbook is a fascinating account of the Festival and a valuable resource for anyone interested in creating their own site specific festival, performance or event.

“The Hidden City Festival was Fantastic. It was a brilliant idea and I hope it will be built upon in the future.” Linda Gilroy, MP for Plymouth Sutton (1997 – 2010)

The 80 page handbook is a co-commission by Part Exchange Co and the Centre for Humanities, Music and Performing Arts (HuMPA) at the University of Plymouth and is available to buy online here or from the Plymouth branch of Waterstones now.
