Miriam Battye

Miriam Battye is a Bristol-based playwright originally from Manchester. In 2011 she was shortlisted for the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting with her first play I STARTED A FIRE. She is currently a writer on attachment at Bristol Old Vic. In 2013 she completed the Royal Court Young Writers Programme and is currently on an Invited Writers Group at the theatre. She is on the BBC Drama Room 2016 Scheme.

Recent credits include Blackout (Theatre Royal Bath), Trip The Light Fantastic (Theatre West/Bristol Old Vic), Electricity (National Youth Theatre/Arcola), Balance (Royal Exchange Theatre) and Men (Arcola).

Miriam is working as writer on our St Mary Redcliffe Sentient City project.
